This notice explains how Union Roofing("we", "us") handles personal information collected through this website, in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018 and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).
Who We Are

The Information We Collect
When you use a quote or contact form we collect the details you enter: your name, phone number, email address, postcode, the service you need and any message you add. If you call us, email us or message us on WhatsApp (including through the WhatsApp button on this site), we receive your contact details and whatever you choose to tell us. If you call our 0800 number or one of the local numbers shown on our area pages, the call is connected through a call-routing service, which logs the number you called from and the date, time and length of the call.
How We Use It & Why
- To reply to your enquiry, arrange a visit to look at your roof and prepare your quotation. Our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.
- To carry out and keep a record of the work we quote for and complete. Our lawful bases are performing our contract with you, our legitimate interest in running the business, and meeting our legal obligations.
- We do not use your information for marketing without your consent.
Who We Share It With
- Digital Five, our website provider, delivers form submissions to us using the Postmark email service and keeps an archive copy of each enquiry so that none is lost. Access to that archive is restricted.
- Digital Five also provides our 0800 number and our local area numbers. Calls to them pass through its call-routing service, which keeps the call log described above.
- Cloudflare hosts this website and protects the forms from spam with Cloudflare Turnstile.
- We may share details with our accountant or professional advisers, with your insurer where you ask us to support an insurance claim, or where the law requires us to.
- We do not sell your information or pass it to list brokers or marketing companies.
How Long We Keep It
We keep enquiry details for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry. Where we carry out work for you, we keep the records of that work for as long as the law requires us to keep business and tax records, and for as long as any guarantee on the work applies. After that, personal data we no longer need is deleted.
Cookies & Third-Party Content
A cookie banner, provided by Digital Five, asks for your consent before any non-essential cookies are set, and records your choice. You can change your choice at any time from the cookie settings link on the site. The services this site uses are all strictly necessary:
- the two cookies that record your cookie choice: d5cmp_consent, which stores it (12 months), and d5cmp_uid, an anonymous identifier that links your consent record and does not identify you (24 months);
- Cloudflare, which hosts the site and checks form submissions for spam (Cloudflare Turnstile);
- the Google map of the areas we cover, which Google serves directly under its own privacy policy.
Customer reviews on this site are shown using Trustindex. To display them, your browser fetches the reviews from Trustindex's servers, which receive your IP address; reviewer photos may load from the review platform (for example Google). Trustindex sets no cookies.
We do not use analytics, Google Tag Manager or advertising pixels on this website.
Links to WhatsApp, Google, Checkatrade, Facebook and Instagram open those services, which handle your information under their own privacy policies.
Your Rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, to ask for it to be transferred to someone else, and to withdraw your consent to cookies at any time. To make a request, call us on 0800 158 5635, email info@unionroofing.co.uk or send it through the contact form. We will reply within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.
